TUNA MASALA

This is a simple recipe for left over fish or canned tuna. It is a delicious and spicy dish.

Ingredients

1. Canned tuna – 1 small tin (around 100 gm of fish inside)

2. Shallots or onion sliced – ½ cup

3. Ginger – 1 inch piece

4. Garlic cloves – 5

5. Tomato – 1

6. Green chilli – 1 or 2

7. Curry leaves

8. Chilli powder – 1 tsp

9. Pepper powder – ½ tsp

10. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp

11. Coriander powder – ½ tsp

12. Fenugreek powder – 2 pinches


Preparation

1. Strain the oil in the tin and keep aside.

2. In a pan heat 1 Tbsp of the same tinned oil or any oil and add mustard seeds. When it crackles add crushed ginger, garlic, green chilli and curry leaves.

3. Saute till the raw smell goes. Add sliced shallots or onion and sauté till light brown.

4. Lower the flame and add the spice powders. Mix and add chopped tomato and salt. Mix and cook covered for 3-4 minutes.

5. Add the strained tuna and mix gently. Stir fry for few minutes and serve hot.
