SOYA MASALA STIR FRY

Soya chunks are healthy and nutritious food for all and are a good source of protein. This tasty and dry dish goes well with rice and roti.

Ingredients


1. Soya chunks – 100 gm

2. Onion sliced – 1 big

3. Ginger crushed – 1 Tbsp

4. Garlic crushed – 2 Tbsp

5. Green chilli slitted – 3-4

6. Tomato – 1 big

7. Crushed pepper – 1 Tbsp

8. Kashmiri chilli powder – 1 tsp

9. Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

10. Coriander powder – 1 Tbsp

11. Garam masala – 1 tsp

12. Roasted fennel seed powder – 1 tsp

13. Salt

14. Oil


Preparation

1. Soak the soya chunks in salted hot water (completely immersing the chunks) for 30 minutes. Then squeeze out water and rinse in cold water 2-3 times changing the water. Keep aside.

2. Heat oil. Add crushed ginger and garlic and sauté for few seconds. Add sliced onion, slitted green chillies and curry leaves. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.

3. Add salt, turmeric powder and sauté. Add coriander powder, stir well. Add chilli powder and crushed pepper and sauté for few seconds.

4. Add the fennel seed powder and garam masala powder. Stir well and add the chopped tomatoes. Mix well. Add salt if required.

5. Cover and cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes till tomatoes become soft and mushy. Add the soya chunks. Mix well till the masala is coated on the soya chunks.

6. Cook covered on low flame for 8-10 minutes. Stir in between. Then stir cook for 5 minutes and add ½ tsp garam masala and mix well and remove from fire.

Tips

1. If chunks are big in size you can cut it into smaller pieces.
