RAITA


This is a simple side dish which goes well with pulavu, biriyani, rice etc. It is very easy to prepare with minimum ingredients and is very healthy and nutritious. Raitas can be made in different varieties as per your taste.



Ingredients

1. Curd – 2 cups

2. Onion chopped – 1 small

3. Tomato chopped – 1 small

4. Cucumber chopped – ¼ cup

5. Pomegranate – ½ cup

6. Salt


For tempering

1. Oil – 1 Tbsp

2. Asafoetida (Hing) – 1 pinch

3. Red chilli dry – 1

4. Curry leaves – few

5. Green chilli chopped – 1

6. Mustard seeds (Rai) – ½ tsp



Preparation

1. Mix all ingredients together.

2. For tempering – Heat 1 Tbsp oil in a small pan, crackle the mustard seeds, add hing, red chilli, green chilli and curry leaves. Fry on low flame and add to the curd mixture.
