PINEAPPLE RAITA

An easy to prepare sweet and savory raita which can be served with any Indian style meal. This delicious dish is almost like a dessert.


Ingredients

1. Chopped pineapple – 1 cup

2. Sugar – 1 Tbsp

3. Thick curd – 1 cup

4. Roasted jeera powder – ½ tsp

5. Green coriander chopped – 1 tsp

6. Pudina (Mint) leaves – 1 tsp

7. Chilli flakes – ½ tsp

8. Chat masala (optional) – ¼ tsp


Preparation

1. Cook the pineapple on medium flame with sugar and ½ cup water till the pieces are soft and water dried up. Cool and keep aside.

2. Whip the curd till smooth and add chilli flakes, roasted cumin powder, salt, chat masala, coriander leaves and mint leaves.

3. Add cooked pineapple and mix well. Adjust the seasoning.

4. Transfer to serving dish and garnish with coriander leaves, chopped pineapple, jeera powder and chilli flakes. Serve chilled.


Tips

1. Pomegranates can also be mixed with the curd.

2. Dry mint leaves also can be used in place of fresh mint leaves.

3. Canned pineapples can also be used after draining the syrup.

4. Grilled pineapple can be used for a different taste.
