Panna Cotta is a traditional eggless, creamy, easy and delicious Italian dessert. The name Panna Cotta means cooked cream. It is a molded and chilled dessert and tastes wonderful with ripe fruits. It is perfect to beat the summer heat.
Ingredients
1. Whole milk – 200 ml
2. Fresh cream – 200 ml
3. Sugar – ½ cup
4. Gelatin – 2 Tbsp
5. Water – ¼ cup
6. Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
Preparation
1. Soak the gelatin in ¼ cup water for 15-20 minutes. Melt it over hot water (double boiler) and keep aside.
2. Mix milk, cream and sugar in a pan and bring it to boil on medium flame. Keep stirring.
3. Add vanilla essence and melted gelatin. Mix well and remove from fire.
4. Grease the serving bowl and transfer into it. Refrigerate till set.
5. Garnish with any fruit crush (blueberry, strawberry etc) or mangoes or any pulpy fruit of your choice.
Suggestions
1. Instead of vanilla essence you can use rum, chocolate or any essence of your choice.
2. If you are using a bundt mold to set the pudding, it should be unmolded into a plate and fill the centre portion with any chopped fruits.
3. It can also be set in individual serving bowls.
