ORANGE CAKE

A delicious cake perfect for any occasion. This cake is a combination of orange rind and orange juice which makes it extra moist and flavourful. The citrus flavour becomes stronger over time.


Ingredients

1. Maida – ¾ cup

2. Baking powder – ½ tsp

3. Butter – ½ cup (110 gm)

4. Sugar powdered – ½ cup

5. Orange rind grated – 1 Tbsp

6. Orange juice – ½ cup

7. Orange essence – ½ tsp (optional)


Preparation

1. Add butter, sugar and orange rind into a bowl and beat till fluffy and creamy.

2. Add egg, one by one, beating well.

3. Mix maida with baking powder and add to the egg mixture, little by little, mixing slowly.

4. Add orange juice and orange essence and mix well. Transfer to a greased loaf tin or baking tray and bake in a preheated oven for 40 minutes or until done at 160 degrees Celsius.


Tips

1. Use fresh oranges for a flavourful cake.

2. ½ cup oil can be used instead of butter.
