MANGO TRIFLE

This mango trifle is a perfect summer dessert which is easy to prepare, delicious and looks beautiful.


Ingredients

1. Ripe mangoes – 2

2. Whipping cream – 200ml

3. Sugar – ¼ cup

4. Cake crumbs – 2 cups

5. Mango essence – 1tsp (optional)


Preparation

1. Chop one mango into small pieces and keep aside.

2. Puree the other mango and keep aside.

3. Whip 100ml of cream to stiff peaks and keep aside.

4. Whip the remaining 100ml of cream to stiff peak and add the powdered sugar and mango puree and mango essence and beat again.

5. Take a serving bowl and layer with cake crumbs at the bottom.

6. Then layer the diced mango.

7. Layer mango puree mixture.

8. Layer the whipped cream (step 3 refers) and refrigerate for 4-5 hours.


Tips

1. Mango should be firm and not too soft.

2. If mangoes are flavourful then mango essence may not be added.

3. Cake should preferably be plain or marble type.

4. Half cup of sugar syrup can be sprinkled on the cake for a soft bottom layer.
