This raita is a wholesome and nutritious side dish which is rich in vitamin C. It is easy to prepare and goes well with rice.

Ingredients
1. Gooseberry – 6
2. Salt
3. Turmeric – ½ tsp
4. Garlic – 4-5 cloves
5. Ginger – a small piece
6. Green chillies – 3-4
7. Dry red chillies – 2
8. Curry leaves
9. Fenugreek seeds – ½ tsp
10. Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
11. Asafetida(hing) – ¼ tsp
12. Oil – 1 Tbsp
13. Curd – 2 cups
Preparation
1. Cook the gooseberries on low flame in 1 cup water; add salt and ½ tsp turmeric powder. Remove the seeds and keep aside. Save the left over gooseberry water.
2. Crush the cooked gooseberries with garlic, ginger, green chillies and curry leaves.
3. Mix the above crushed mixture in curd, add salt and the left over gooseberry water and transfer into the serving bowl.
4. Heat oil in a pan. Crackle the mustard seeds, asafetida, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves and red chillies. Stir fry and add to the curd mixture.
