FISH FRY

Fish fry is a popular dish among non vegetarians and its preparation varies from place to place and type of fish. This is a recipe with pomfret fish but any fish can be prepared in the same way. This is a flavourful, spicy and absolutely delicious fish fry which can be served as a side dish or snack.


Ingredients

1. Fish – 250 gm

2. Oil for frying

For the Masala

1. Shallots – 6

2. Curry leaves

3. Kashmiri red chilli powder – 1 Tbsp

4. Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

5. Black pepper – 1 tsp

6. Garlic – 8 cloves

7. Fennel seeds – ¼ tsp

8. Ginger – 1 inch piece

9. Lemon juice – 1 Tbsp

10. Salt


Preparation

1. Clean and wash the fish with salt and turmeric and drain it.

2. Grind all ingredients under masala to a fine paste and apply on the fish and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

3. Heat oil in a pan and sprinkle some curry leaves. Shallow fry the fish.


Tips

1. Adjust the spices as per your preference.

2. If it’s a whole fish or big piece then slit it on both sides after cleaning.
