DRY SEVIYAN (SWEET VERMICELLI)

A sweet dessert made from vermicelli, ghee, dry fruits and jaggery or sugar. This is a quick and delicious dessert recipe. This is usually made during festive occasions and is aromatic and rich.


Ingredients


1. Ghee – 1 Tbsp

2. Vermicelli – 1 cup

3. Boiled water – 2 cup

4. Jaggery – ½ cup

5. Cardamom powder– ½ tsp

6. Milk powder – ¼ cup

7. Desiccated coconut – ¼ cup (optional)

8. Dry fruits

9. Saffron – a pinch






Preparation

1. Heat ghee in a pan. Add vermicelli and roast on low flame stirring frequently till it become golden colour.

2. Add desiccated coconut, chopped dry fruits and stir well.

3. Then add the boiled water stirring continuously.

4. Add jaggery (I used palm jaggery.) and keep stirring.

5. Stir in the milk powder. Mix well and sprinkle cardamom powder and saffron.

6. When the mixture starts thickening and all the moisture is absorbed remove from fire and transfer to the serving bowl.

7. Garnish with dry fruits.


Tips

1. Khoya can also be added along with milk powder.
