CREAMY MUSHROOM CHICKEN

This is a quick and easy chicken dish with boneless chicken in a thick and creamy mushroom sauce with full of flavours. This can be served as a side dish of pasta, noodles, rice, potato etc.


Ingredients

For marination of chicken

1. Boneless chicken – 250 gm

2. Lemon juice – ½ tsp

3. Pepper powder – ½ tsp

4. Mixed herbs – 1 tsp

5. Oil – 1 Tbsp

6. Garlic crushed – 1 tsp

For mushroom sauce

1. Mushroom – 200 gm

2. Crushed garlic – 1 tsp

3. Finely chopped onion – 1medium

4. Mustard sauce – 1 Tbsp

5. Milk – ½ cup

6. Fresh cream – ½ cup

7. Oil – 1 Tbsp

8. Parmesan cheese – 1 Tbsp

9. Parsley – 1 Tbsp

10. Salt


Preparation

For marination

1. Clean and cut chicken into thick strips.

2. Mix the chicken strips with all ingredients under marination. Keep aside for 10 minutes.

For the mushroom sauce

1. Heat oil in a pan and add crushed garlic. Sauté for few seconds.

2. Add chopped onion. Sauté till onions become soft.

3. Add cleaned and sliced mushrooms. Sauté on high flame till it reduces to half.

4. Add mustard sauce. Sauté for a minute.

5. In a bowl mix milk and fresh cream and pour into the mushroom sauce, reducing the flame. Mix well.

6. Add salt and cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes.

7. Add grated cheese and parsley. Mix well and remove from flame. Keep aside.

8. Heat a pan. Add 1 Tbsp oil and roast the chicken strips for 3-4 minutes on each side.

9. Transfer the mushroom sauce into a serving dish and arrange the chicken pieces on top of the sauce.

10. Garnish with grated cheese and parsley.


Tips

1. Use olive oil for the best result.

2. Instead of roasting the chicken strips in a normal pan a grill pan can also be used to grill the chicken strips.

3. Prawns can also be used in lieu of chicken.

4. Cream cheese also can be used in place of Parmesan cheese.
